Best Portable Massage Table UK – Our Picks by How You Work

There is no single best portable massage table – but there is a best table for the way you work. These are our picks from the UK range, compared on the three figures that decide: table-only weight, width and dynamic working load.

We compared every portable table in our range. All figures are the manufacturer’s specifications, as shown on each product page.

Working load: the kg figure that matters most

A portable table carries more than your client’s body weight. Compare the dynamic working load – not the static figure – and leave a clear margin above your heaviest regular clients.

Dynamic working load

The load a table is rated for during treatment, when it is fully opened, locked and set up on a level floor. This is the figure to compare between tables.

Static load

A test value for the frame without movement. It is often two to four times higher – the Stratomaster LX, for example, is rated to 225 kg working load and 680 kg static – and it is not the load to treat with.

What adds load in treatment

Your own body weight when you lean in, a client sitting up on the end of the table, getting on and off, stretches, rocking and body-weight techniques.

Light does not mean weak

The Earthlite Luna weighs 13 kg and is rated to 340 kg. The Zephyr weighs 11 kg and is rated to 204 kg. The Husky Gibraltar weighs 24 kg and is rated to 340 kg. Read the rating – the weight of a table tells you little about its strength.

Our guidance, not a manufacturer rule. If you are between two classes, choose the higher one.

Client weight: stones and kg

  • 12 st≈ 76 kg
  • 15 st≈ 95 kg
  • 18 st≈ 114 kg
  • 20 st≈ 127 kg
  • 25 st≈ 159 kg

If you regularly treat clients of around 20 stone (127 kg) or more, or your work involves firm sports or deep tissue pressure, choose a table from the 270 kg class upwards.

Ratings only apply to a correctly set-up table: fully opened, cables and locks secure, all legs at the same height, on a firm, level floor. Check this before every treatment – especially in clients’ homes.

Our picks by how you work

Each pick is the table we would suggest first for that job – with alternatives if your priorities are different.

Best for daily home visits

Master Massage Breeze

For therapists who carry the table up stairs and in and out of the car several times a week.

  • Table weight11.8 kg
  • Width71 cm (28")
  • Working load240 kg
  • Padding50 mm

Why we pick it: An aluminium frame, a practical 71 cm top and a 240 kg working load – more reserve than many tables at this weight. It comes as a complete mobile package with face hole and bolster.

Consider instead: Zephyr (11 kg, 204 kg) if every gram counts and your clients are lighter. Stratomaster LX (11.3 kg, 76 cm, 225 kg) for a wider top, 7.6 cm padding and reiki panels.

Best value all-rounder

Master Massage Coronado LX

For regular treatments in a room and on the road, when comfort and stability matter more than the lowest weight.

  • Table weight15.4 kg (71 cm)
  • Width71 or 76 cm
  • Working load270 kg
  • Padding7.6 cm memory foam

Why we pick it: Thick memory-foam padding, reiki panels at both ends and a 270 kg working load at a mid-range price. The 76 cm version weighs 16.7 kg and gives broader clients more room.

Consider instead: Paradise (14.8 kg, 71 cm, 270 kg) for a lighter wooden table with 6.5 cm memory foam. Montclair LX (71 or 79 cm, 270 kg) if you want the extra-wide 79 cm option.

Best for sports massage and larger clients

Master Massage Husky Gibraltar

For pressure-intensive work, athletes and broader or heavier clients – ideal when you travel by car.

  • Table weight24 kg
  • Width81 cm (32")
  • Working load340 kg
  • FrameCanadian ash, double top

Why we pick it: 81 cm of width and a 340 kg working load – one of the highest ratings in our portable range – give you real reserve for firm techniques. At 24 kg it is a table for the car boot, not for long walks.

Consider instead: Santana Therma-Top® (71 cm, 340 kg, 18 kg) for the same rating on a standard width, with heating. Earthlite Spirit (360 kg; 71, 76 or 81 cm) for premium Earthlite construction.

Best on a tight budget

Master Massage ARGO

For students, new therapists and occasional use, when the purchase price matters most.

  • Table weight13.6 kg
  • Width71 cm (28")
  • Working load205 kg
  • Padding40 mm

Why we pick it: A full-width 71 cm wooden table at an entry price, rated to 205 kg – right for relaxation and wellness massage. The firmer 40 mm padding keeps it compact.

Consider instead: Zephyr (11 kg, 204 kg) for the same class at a lower weight. Harmon (61 cm, 226 kg) for small rooms and close access – with a narrower top. If you plan regular firm or sports work, move up to the 270 kg class.

Best heated table

Master Massage Santana Therma-Top®

For cooler rooms, winter appointments and clients who feel the cold.

  • Table weight18 kg
  • Width71 cm (28")
  • Working load340 kg
  • ComfortTherma-Top® heating, 7.6 cm memory foam

Why we pick it: Built-in Therma-Top® heating, deep memory-foam padding and a 340 kg working capacity – the highest rating among our heated portable tables, shared with the Montclair Salon.

Consider instead: Galaxy Pro Therma-Top® (16.7 kg, 270 kg) in Blackline design if weight matters more. Fairlane TT Therma-Top® (15.9 kg, 225 kg) as the entry to heated tables. Keeping your current table? A massage table heating blanket is the alternative.

Best with a backrest

Master Massage LiteMaster 3-Section

For semi-reclined, beauty, lash and mixed treatments that need more than a flat table.

  • Table weight14.5 kg
  • Width63.5 cm (25")
  • Working load250 kg
  • FrameAluminium, lifting backrest

Why we pick it: A lifting backrest for flat, inclined and semi-reclined positions on an aluminium frame rated to 250 kg that stays transportable. The compact 63.5 cm top gives close access but less room for broader clients.

Consider instead: Somerest Salon (76 cm, 340 kg, 19.5 kg) or Coronado Salon (76 cm, 340 kg, 20 kg) for a wider top and a higher working load – mainly for car-based or fixed-room use.

Specialist tables: the EVA for pregnancy massage (76 cm, 270 kg, removable breast and belly pads), the Canoga XL for Thai massage and Feldenkrais (85 cm, low 46–65 cm height, 270 kg) and our reiki tables with end panels for seated work.

Before you buy: five checks

  1. Working load

Your heaviest regular client plus your firmest technique decides the class – see the load classes above.

  2. Table-only weight

How often and how far you carry the table. The face cradle, arm shelf and carry case add to what you carry.

  3. Width and height

71 cm (28") suits most therapists. The tabletop should be about level with your knuckles when you stand next to it.

  4. Folded size

Measure your car boot, storage space and the stairs to your treatment rooms.

  5. Features

Padding, reiki panels, backrest and heating – choose what your treatments actually need.

Best portable massage table: frequently asked questions

Clear answers on working load, weight, width and features.

What is the best portable massage table in the UK?

It depends on how you work. For daily home visits we pick the Master Massage Breeze (11.8 kg, 240 kg working load), as a best-value all-rounder the Coronado LX (270 kg) and for sports massage and larger clients the Husky Gibraltar (81 cm, 340 kg). Compare table-only weight, width and dynamic working load first.

What weight capacity should a massage table have?

Compare the dynamic working load and leave a clear margin above your heaviest regular client. Around 225–250 kg suits everyday professional massage for most clients. For sports massage, firm pressure or clients of around 20 stone (127 kg) and more, we recommend 270 kg or higher.

What is the difference between static and dynamic working load?

The dynamic working load is the rating for treatment, including your pressure and the client’s movement. The static load is a test value without movement and is often two to four times higher – it is not the permitted treatment load.

How heavy is a portable massage table?

In our range, lightweight aluminium tables weigh 11–11.8 kg, most wooden tables – including most heated models – 13.6–18 kg, and salon, AirWave and heavy-duty models 19.5–24 kg. These figures are for the table only, without accessories or carry case.

Is a lightweight massage table strong enough for sports massage?

Weight alone does not tell you. The Earthlite Luna weighs 13 kg and is rated to 340 kg, while some 11 kg tables are rated to around 204–225 kg. For regular sports massage, choose a dynamic working load of 270 kg or more.

What width should a portable massage table be?

A width of 71 cm (28") suits most therapists. 76 cm (30") gives larger clients more room but needs more reach, and 81 cm (32") is for broad clients and heavy-duty work. Our massage table size table compares common widths, lengths and height ranges.

Is a heated massage table worth it?

If you work in cooler rooms or in winter, built-in Therma-Top® heating keeps clients warm without a separate blanket. Heated tables are slightly heavier – the Santana weighs 18 kg – and need a power socket. See our heated massage tables.

What warranty comes with Master Massage portable tables?

Master Massage specifies limited lifetime cover for the frame, subject to its terms, 3–5 years for foam and upholstery depending on the product, and 2 years for Therma-Top® heating. The exact warranty is shown on each product page.

Is delivery free?

Yes. Standard delivery to Mainland UK is free – including the Scottish Highlands and islands connected by a road bridge, such as Anglesey and the Isle of Skye. All prices include VAT. See our delivery information.
